Terms of service

1. Provider and scope
These terms apply to Ostrae Account, operated by Jonas Heip, Klusenerweg 11, 59494 Soest, Germany. Contact: felixh82006@gmail.com. Account manages your shared identity and approved access to connected Ostrae services. Individual services may have additional terms, which must be displayed before you use them.
2. Free service and development status
Account is currently free. Any future paid service requires a separate offer and your express acceptance. Registration does not create an automatic subscription. Planned or experimental features are not guaranteed features of the service. The complete Ostrae.email mail application is in development. A reserved address alone does not guarantee an activated mailbox, unlimited storage or sending. Activation depends on technical checks and capacity limits. Account displays the applicable status.
3. Registration and minors
The minimum age is 12. If you are under 18, obtain any required authorization from your legal guardian before using the service. Registration is not allowed below age 12. A parent may contact the operator with questions or to review a registration. A checked declaration alone does not replace a legally required verification of parental authorization. Where processing requires consent, the statutory age and representation rules also apply. These terms do not obtain blanket consent to data processing.
4. Details and email addresses
Use an email address that you are legally entitled to access. Verification is required before access. Your display name may be a pseudonym but must not be used for impersonation. Ostrae names are assigned only after verification and successful reservation. System names and already assigned names are unavailable. If someone else claims your chosen name during verification, an available name with a suffix may be assigned; your final address appears in Account. Reservation and mailbox activation are separate steps.
5. Security and acceptable use
Use a unique password and protect your credentials, devices and recovery codes. Do not share your access with others. MFA may be mandatory for privileged accounts and certain services. Report suspected misuse promptly. Spam, phishing, malware, unlawful content, unauthorized access, impersonation, bypassing access controls and automated bulk creation of accounts or mailboxes are prohibited. Security testing must not harm other accounts or data; coordinate further testing with the operator.
6. Connected services and permissions
An account does not automatically grant access to every product. Grants, invitations, roles and security requirements are checked separately. When connecting an application, review its displayed identity and permissions. You can revoke sessions in Account. Revoking central access does not automatically delete data that a connected service previously received lawfully; its privacy notice also applies.
7. Availability and changes
Maintenance, outages, security measures or provider problems may restrict use. There is currently no guaranteed availability or service-level agreement. Back up important data yourself. Material changes to these terms will be communicated with a version date; renewed acceptance will be requested where required. Changes do not apply retroactively without a legal basis.
8. Restrictions and termination
You may request termination of your account and deletion of your data using the contact email. Appropriate identity verification may be required to prevent unauthorized deletion. The operator may restrict or suspend access where there is concrete misuse, a security risk or a legal obligation. Where possible, you will receive reasons and may request a review using the contact email. Urgent protective action may be taken before a response. Data protection rights and necessary retention obligations remain unaffected.
9. Content and rights
You retain your rights to your content. You grant the operator only the rights necessary to provide the applicable service. Upload only content for which you have the necessary rights. Account currently offers no general file storage. External profile image URLs must be used lawfully.
10. Liability and applicable law
Statutory liability rules apply. Liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and mandatory statutory claims is not excluded. German law applies while preserving mandatory consumer protections at your habitual residence. Statutory jurisdictions remain unaffected.
11. Privacy and contact
